STEP 1 : Select the correct database in the drop down menu
- Pensions and Awards: This search section relates to individual applicants’ files for death, wounds, disabilities, as well as the claims lodged by the dependants of deceased volunteers. The Army Pensions Acts deal with the wounded and deceased participants and their dependants. The Military Service Pensions Acts deal with surviving participants who could provide proof of active service/key service in specified organizations.
- Organisations and Membership: This search section relates to all nominal rolls (IRA, Cumann na mBan and Fianna Eireann) as well as the Brigade Activity Reports. You can narrow your search using the FIle Series dropdown menu or search across all series.
- Administration files: This search relates to the the corpus of material assembled by the MSPA team in order to provide background and context to the rest of the collection. These files contain particulars about the mechanism of the pension machine and details its functioning.
- Medals: This search contains the name of 47,554 applicants claiming for the 1916 Medal and the Service (1917-1921) Medal (including 197 successful applications for the 1916 Medal). The total number of files processed and available for viewing is 66,174 as some applicants have more than one file under their name.
