19th Release - February 2026

The February 2026 release is the 19 th release of records from the Military Service
Pensions Archive. The files relate to 1,089 individuals/veterans or their dependents. The
release contains over 2,580 new files (including some files added to previous releases)
and brings the total individual nominal entries on the MSPC online database to 22,032.

Out of the 1089 new names being added to the database 622 cases were successful
overall (wound, service or dependants).

Files released include:

- 538 veterans applied under the Military Service Pensions Act, 1924 (National Army
veterans) Out of those 361 claims were successful.

- 368 veterans applied under the Military Service Pensions Act, 1934 (173 were
successful.

- 152 claims successful under the Army Pensions Act.

- 76 wounds pension claims (11 were successful).

- 89 mixed cases (DP files) of dependency, wounds, Special Allowance (14 successful).

- 59 cases of dependency claims lodged by widows (29), mothers (13), fathers (8),
brothers (5), sisters (2), parents (2 joint claims).

Geography and emigration:
142 cases showed a Northern Ireland address for residence (including one case for
dependency), 86 had an address in the USA, 70 in England, 12 in Scotland, 2 in Wales, 6
in Australia, 2 in New Zealand.

Types of occupations recorded:

Farmers (142), (farm) labourers (160), ex-British Army soldiers (33) and RIC Sergeant and
Constable (2). Steel, shipyard and railway workers, carpenters, sailors, firemen,
gravediggers, gardeners, carters, shop assistants, butchers, machinists, leather dealers,
drapers, one dispatch clerk for the Irish Independent in Dublin and one linotype operator
for The Nationalist newspaper (Clonmel, Co Tipperary).
