2 Battalion: Unit strength on 11 July 1921 was 371 all ranks, and the strength on 1 July 1922 was 229 all ranks.The companies of the 2 Battalion were located as follows: Cashel, New Inn, Golden, Dualla and Kilfeacle.
3 Battalion: Unit strength on 11 July 1921 was 412 all ranks, and the strength on 1 July 1922 was 257 all ranks.The companies of the 3 Battalion were located as follows: Knockavilla, Anacarthy, Hollyford, Rosmore and Clonoulty.
4 Battalion: Unit strength on 11 July 1921 was 759 all ranks, and the strength on 1 July 1922 was 534 all ranks.The companies of the 4 Battalion were located as follows: Tipperary Town [‘A’ & ‘L’ Coys.], Mount Bruis, Donohill, Donaskeigh, Sologhead, Aherlow, Bansha, Kilross and Lattin.
5 Battalion: Unit strength on 11 July 1921 was 405 all ranks, and the strength on 1 July 1922 was 543 all ranks.The companies of the 5 Battalion were located as follows: Clonmel, Kilsheelan, Grange, Newcastle, Powerstown, Russelstown, Kilcash and Kilganey.
6 Battalion: Unit strength on 11 July 1921 was 384 all ranks, and the strength on 1 July 1922 was 380 all ranks.The companies of the 6 Battalion were located as follows: Tincurry, Ballybacon, Graigue, Skeheenarinka, Garrymore, Ballyporeen, Burncourt, Cahir and Rehill.

An Active Service Unit was effective with the South Tipperary Brigade on both critical dates with a total overall strength of 31 all ranks. Personnel were attached to the A.S.U from the battalions of the brigade.
