1 Battalion: Unit strength on 11 July 1921 was 569 all ranks, and the strength on 1 July 1922 was 269 all ranks. The companies of the 1 Battalion were located as follows: Thurles, Holycross, Moycarbey, Boherlahan, Two-Mile-Borris, Gortnahoe, Glangoole and The Commons.
2 Battalion: Unit strength on 11 July 1921 was 292 all ranks, and the strength on 1 July 1922 was 190 all ranks. The companies of the 2 Battalion were located as follows: Castleiney, Templetuohy, Loughmore, Moyne, Clonmore, Drom, Templemore and Killea.
3 Battalion: Unit strength on 11 July 1921 was 242 all ranks, and the strength on 1 July 1922 was 132 all ranks.The companies of the 3rd. Battalion were located as follows: Drombane, Upperchurch, Borrisoleigh, Inch, Ballycahill and Inch-Milestone.

An Active Service Unit was effective with the Mid-Tipperary Brigade up to 11 July 1921 with a total overall strength of 52 all ranks. All of these personnel are stated to have been attached from the 1 Battalion.
