One of the most important and valuable series of the Military Service (1916-1923) Pensions Collection is the Nominal Roll files. They provide a unique window into the structure and membership of the Irish Republican Army, Cumann na mBan and Fianna Eireann during the Irish Independence struggle, while also revealing how the state later assessed and recognised military service.
The files were conserved, catalogued, digitised and released online in 2014 (MSPC first release) and until now, access was afforded through our database search.
This week we will introduce a new way to search the names contained in the files.
Stay tuned!
