Fighting at Farranaleen, Kilmanagh, Co Tipperary

After the capture of Clonmel by Free State Forces some Volunteers joined a colum led by Bill Quirke and Sean Hayes to serve through South Tipperary area and took part in operations, including that of Farranaleen where an armoured train was captured. At Kilmanagh, Co Kilkenny, the IRA machine-gunner was killed and 6 or 7 were captured.
