Dillons Cross Ambush

IRA ambush of party of Auxiliaries (Auxiliary Division RIC) at Dillon's Cross, Cork, County Cork on 11 December 1920. At least 1 killed and a large number wounded. Resulted in widespread British reprisals in Cork city including the killing of 2 IRA members and culminating in the burning of Cork city centre by combined British military and police forces on the night of 11-12 December 1920.
