Killing of retired RIC Sergeant Anthony Foody

Retired RIC Sergeant Anthony Foody was shot by the IRA on 7 July 1921 near Bunnyconnellan (Bonniconlon), County Mayo. Foody had allegedly been involved in the killing of Thomas Dwyer at The Ragg, County Tipperary on 29 March 1920. According to the file Foody had been arrested by the IRA and was being questioned when he attempted to escape and was shot.
