West Limerick Brigade – 1 Southern Division

1 Battalion: Unit strength on 11 July 1921 was 400 all ranks, and the strength on 1 July 1922 was 275 all ranks.The companies of the 1 Battalion were located as follows: Monegay, Newcastlewest, Killoughteen, Ardagh, Kilcolman and Carrickerry.
2 Battalion: Unit strength on 11 July 1921 was 576 all ranks, and the strength on 1 July 1922 was 336 all ranks.The companies of the 2 Battalion were located as follows: Abbeyfeale, Athea, Templeglantine, Tournafulla and Mount Collins.
3 Battalion: Unit strength on 11 July 1921 was 657 all ranks, and the strength on 1 July 1922 was 266 all ranks.The companies of the 3 Battalion were located as follows: Dromcollogher, Broadford, Feohanagh, Castlemahon, Feenagh, Ballygran, Kilmeedy, Clouncagh and Killeedy.
4 Battalion: Unit strength on 11 July 1921 was 649 all ranks, and the strength on 1 July 1922 was 397 all ranks.The companies of the 4 Battalion were located as follows: Rathkeale, Stonehall, Pallaskenry, Ballysteen, Askeaton, Croagh, Ballingarry, Granagh, Kilfinny and Cappagh.
5 Battalion: Unit strength on 11 July 1921 was 228 all ranks, and the strength on 1 July 1922 was 125 all ranks.The companies of the 5 Battalion were located as follows: Ballyhahill, Glin, Loughill, Foynes, Shanagolden and Ballygoughlan.

An Active Service Unit was effective with the West Limerick Brigade with a total strength of 51 all ranks. The A.S.U. was effective on 11 July 1921. Personnel were attached to the A.S.U. from the battalions of the brigade.
