Mid-Clare Brigade – 1 Western Division

1 Battalion: Unit strength on 11 July 1921 was 336 all ranks and the strength on 1 July 1922 was 254 all ranks. The companies of the 1 Battalion were located as follows: Crusheen, Barefield, Ballinruan, Clooney, Ennis and Doora.
2 Battalion: Unit strength on 11 July 1921 was 431 all ranks and the strength on 1 July 1922 was 299 all ranks.The companies of the 2 Battalion were located as follows: Ballyea, Inch, Connolly, Lissycasey, Ballycorrick, Kilmaley and Clarecastle.
3 Battalion: Unit strength on 11 July 1921 was 319 all ranks and the strength on 1 July 1922 was 140 all ranks.The companies of the 3 Battalion were located as follows: Kilnamona, Ruan, Kilseedy, Dysart, Rath, Corofin and Kilnaboy (see 5 Bn. below for 11 July 1921).
4 Battalion: Unit strength on 11 July 1921 was 509 all ranks and the strength on 1 July 1922 was 354 all ranks.The companies of the 4 Battalion were located as follows: Ennistymon, Inagh, Lavareen, Lahinch, Moy, Glendine, Miltown Malbay, Letterkelly and Ballyea.
5 Battalion: Unit strength on 11 July 1921 was 380 all ranks and the strength on 1 July 1922 was 399 all ranks.The companies of the 5 Battalion were located as follows: Kilfenora, Clouna, Liscannor, Ballyculliney, Moymore, Doolin, Kilshanny and Kilnaboy outpost (see 3 Bn. above for 1 July 1922).
6 Battalion: Unit strength on 11 July 1921 was 265 all ranks and the strength on 1 July 1922 was 265 all ranks.The companies of the 6 Battalion were located as follows: Ballyvaughan & Noughaville, Carron, Murrough, Toovahera, Ballinalacken, Lisdoonvarna and New Quay.

Active Service Unit: sources give a strength of 131 members of the Mid-Clare Brigade A.S.U. in effect on 11 July 1921 and a strength of 122 members in effect on 1 July 1922. These personnel were drawn from the battalions of the brigade.
